Motorcycle: 2002 Kawasaki Drifter 800
Aftermarket Accessories: Cobra Engine Guard, Hiway pegs, Scootworks back rest and saddle bag brackets, Indian fender light, 18" Ape Hangers, and one off saddle bags. We've also 'lit' this
bike with Boogey Lights as our Demo Bike. This bike as the Ultimate Engine Kit with a couple of Firecrackers thrown in for extra light.
Tim has just finished a 'moderate' rework of his bike to include an awesome
custom paint job by Kenny Yates. We decided to go with a classic
Indian black on red combo. This paint job and new white walls will
really set this bike off!!
DONE!!!!! (sorta) We've received and installed all painted pieces from Kenny. Check out the Left Side, another shot of the left side, and the right side. LOOKING GOOD!!
Motorcycle: SOLD!! Tom sold his scooter after almost 15 years in the stable. Tom has decided to concentrate on cars instead of getting another bike. Even though Tom is a 'car' guy..we won't hold that against him.
PROJECT BIKE!! VStar 1100
We're going to take a 2005 VStar - 1100 from stock to badass in a few days. Click the following link to see the a full view of the stock bike. This link shows you the rear of the bike. Soon the stock exhaust will be replaced by a set of FULL Cobra pipes as well as a Pacific Coast Star's lowering kit. This link shows the right side of the engine with the stock air filter and floorboards. Soon the stock air filter will be replaced by a Barons Big Air Kit and rejet. Next we'll remove the floorboards, replaced by Phat Performance's 4" forward controls. Finally, we'll get rid of the stock oil filter (not sure who the genius at Yammy to design that, but hopefully they've moved on to designing Yammy boat motors) and replace it with Phat Performance's oil relocation kit. Stay Tuned....we'll add the 'after' pictures as soon as we're done.
Phatt Performance Oil Relocation Kit
Here are some pics (pic1, pic2, pic3) of the new oil filter relocation kit. The third kit really shows the kit well. We ordered the kit from Phatt Performance. I liked everything about this kit except for the oil filters. The kit includes THREE chrome filters, however the chrome job on the filters was more like polished aluminum. The filters are a name brand and NOT manufactured by Phatt. Just remember if you ever purchase this kit, KEEP ALL GASKETS from the parts that are removed.
Phatt Performance Forward Controls
These controls are VERY NICE!! Very solid, triple chrome and everything you need to replace your stock pegs or floorboards. What I really liked about this kit was the right side forward control. This kit has every thing to remove the stock braking system. The stock rubber line is replaced with a steel braided line, shown here. The stock master cylinder and plastic reservoir are all replaced with a single solid chrome unit. Here are two pics that show the right forward control - pic1 and pic2. There is only one MINOR issue with the right side. You'll have to remove the old brake light switch and replace it with a new one. You will have to cut the tie wraps securing the wire to the frame to give you enough slack to connect to the new switch. There is a work around for this issue....before installing the new switch, extend the wire from the switch using either solder or butt connectors. One other thing, after you've removed the stock rear brake fluid reservoir, you're going to have a very ugly bracket hanging off the front right downtube. We recommend cutting it off, prime the bare metal and paint. Here is a good pic of the right forward control. Notice the bracket on the down tube, it's located just above the oil filter.
Cobra Exhaust
Here are a few pics of the new Cobra exhaust. This pic shows just the header exhaust. (I wonder what they would sound like set up like that!!) This pic shows the exhaust installed, at this point there are no heat shields installed. Finally, this pic shows the pipes installed with the heat shields installed. The shields really give these pipes a fat look. The only thin missing are the billet tips. These pipes are SWEET!! The customer chose to remove the baffles and the sound is a very nice rumble. If you ever install a set of pipes, remember to clean them VERY GOOD before starting the bike. If not, the oil and dirt on the pipes may discolor them.
Other Notes:
Last year TreVic started a monthly rodeo. We had a pretty decent first year with the help of some great clubs, most notably The LowCountry StarRiders, the Charleston Area Mission Riders and of course The Retreads. All three groups made it a point to designate one (or more) of their weekly rides as a Rodeo Night at TreVics. We set out plenty of food and of course the games for great time and fellowship. This year we're looking to do the same thing. If you would like to join us one, just give the shop a call at 760.9600 for the latest time and date.
DON'T FORGET - TreVic Motorcycle Accessories is an official
reseller and installer for Boogey Lights.
